This policy will always be conducted in English and be subject to English law.
The following is a summary of the cover provided, the section limits per individual and policy excesses deducted from claims (where applicable).
Pre-Travel Policy
Cancellation Charges Up to the cost of the holiday
Covers you for cancellation of your trip due to your death, injury, illness or that of a close relative or travelling companion, or summons for jury service, burglary, serious fire, storm or flood to your home. Section Excess per person £40 - (£15 Loss of Deposit Claims)
Travel Insurance Policy
Departure Delay (applicable to trips outside the United Kingdom only)
In the event that the departure of your international flight, international train or sailing is delayed for more than 12 hours, Insurers will pay, either £20 for the first 12 hour delay and £10 for each 12 hours thereafter up to £100 overall; or up to the irrecoverable costs incurred if the holiday is abandoned. Organiser's Expenses Up to £100 for necessary expenses incurred because of strike, riot or civil commotion which necessitates a change in travel plans. Section Excess £40 on abandonment only.
Personal Possessions Up to £1,500 (Children under 16 years £750)
Cover for the loss, theft or damage to the insured's own personal possessions. Cover in respect of single items is limited to £200 and an overall limit of £200 for valuable items also applies.
Up to £100 - to cover the cost of purchasing essential replacement items, should your personal possessions be delayed on your outward journey, for more than 12 hours from the time you arrive at your destination.
Section Excess £40. (Nil in respect of delayed possessions).
Personal money Up to £200 (Children under 16 years £100)
Individuals cover for loss or theft of money is limited to £200, (Children under 16 years to £100). Group leaders and other nominated adults may carry up to £1000 on behalf of other members of the group if required. Organiser's emergency funds are covered up to £500.
Section Excess £40.
Emergency Medical Expenses Up to £2 Million per person
The cost of medical treatment and emergency expenses arising from accident or illness outside the United Kingdom. An emergency service is also included to liaise with all concerned and, if necessary arrange emergency repatriation and guarantee medical bills. For trips in the United Kingdom cover is restricted to repatriation expenses up to £5,000. and up to £1,000 for reasonable additional accommodation and travel expenses incurred during your holiday by you or one relative or a friend remaining with you, if you become ill or you are injured. Section Excess £40.
Curtailment (cutting short your trip) Up to the cost of the holiday
Insurers will pay the unused proportion of holiday costs if you have to curtail your trip due to your death, injury, illness or that of a close relative or travelling companion, or summons for jury service, burglary, serious fire, storm or flood to your home. Section Excess per person £40.
Personal Liability Up to £2 million per person
Legal liability to a third party should you cause accidental injury or death to him/her or damage to
his/her property. Section Excess £40 (£200 Rented property damage.)
Organiser's Liability Up to £5 million
Personal and Organisers' liability cover in respect of damages and claimant's costs in respect of a single incident which results in bodily injury to a third party and/or damage to their property. The Organisers' liability section also extends to indemnify:
- Local Education Authority.
- Government Body, in the case of an independent school. - The Trustees, PCC or governing body of a Church.
- The Trustees and/or controlling directors of a religious charity.
Section Excess £40 but £200 for Third Party property damage.
Personal Accident Up to £20,000
A cash sum for accidental bodily injury causing death, loss of sight or limbs or permanent disablement. Benefits for children under 16 are limited to £3,500. Benefits for adults over 75 are limited to £1,000 with no cover for permanent disablement. |
